Not surprised to see Speers still with the club, though I don't expect him to be a part of opening night roster.

To be honest, I am way more excited about this kid than McLeod, Bastian or Gignac. Though he doesn't have remarkable physical tools, he's shown a higher level of IQ and vision than the rest of the guys his age.

Just ask Paul Castron what he thinks of Blake Speers. He absolutely loves the guy. Very high on him.

Certainly seems like they're leaving an opening for Speers or Lappin to be on the Opening Night roster.

Is Elias in camp on the ice ?

Elias is skating but not practicing with the team. His name is still on his locker. He is going to team meetings. He has his own Devils shirt #26.

Looking forward to see him with the Devils this season. .

Have been most impressed with Wood and Santini so far. Hoping to see more from Zacha. He's playing with good players tonight... hoping for a good performance

Probably since DSP and Bennett haven't proven they deserve a top 6 spot. It's wide open for these kids. I wouldn't mind throwing Blandisi on his off wing with Hall and Henrique. He has had a strong preseason so far.

The most puzzling non-cut for me is easily Rod Pelley

He hasn't even played in a pre-season game yet AND he's on an AHL deal, but they kept him around.

It's interesting to see that Hynes is experimenting with Cammalleri on the "third" line like some posters have suggested this offseason. I wonder if this is just an experiment or something that he's seriously considering? I don't think it's a bad idea. He'd be a nice veteran linemate to pair with Zacha. Depending on chemistry, this could allow us to roll 4 lines with some scoring punch.

I'm hoping for an injury-free season from Greene.

It's interesting how the coaching staff seems to be looking for specific pairs of players that go well together...Rico/Hall, Zajac/Palmieri (even though the entire Boucher/Zajac/Palmieri line looked great during their short time together last year)...maybe they're looking to do a Zacha/Cammalleri pairing?
