I thought it live, but I can see why no penalty was called. It is just unfortunate but I don't think the Devils guy did anything wrong. It just had an unfortunate outcome, it does happen in this game.

He was tripped and then driven into the boards.

I don't think he was driven so much either his collarbone or wrist just completely gave out as soon as he hit the ice.

I thought broken wrist to but the way he couldn't straighten up or move his arm at all has me agreeing with collarbone or shoulder. Bad break for Helm, whom I've liked this season.

I want Helm to be okay. I complain a lot about him, but I don't want anybody to get hurt.

But AA and Rasmussen revolving with Larkin and Mantha is really interesting for those of us hoping to see a little more skill with the big two.

Scary version is he did both. He had the classic look of the collarbone, where he couldn't move it up at the joint with his arm locked, but it didn't look all that great in the wrist area either unfortunately. What it absolutely looked like is significant damage, so hope the best for Helm. He has had a tough career in the injury department, tough to see that happen to him again.

But it was still side-rear even if it wasn't from behind. If the player being hit can't/doesn't see you while he's close to the boards, you don't make the hit.
