Hes not a star but worth a 3rd, everyone is saying Yzerman got a great deal but he will pay that back. Book it.

He wasn't worth a 3rd at all. He is a fringe NHL player at this point. I know with 100% certainty there is no future trade based on this.

This is for me:
1. Why pay a pick for a type of player you get get on the free agency market?
2. I do like that Yzerman is willing to rather pay a pick for a guy he wants, even if it is bottom six.

That's great and all but 149 players had more goals than him and he was tied with a dozen or so with 11 goals.

As for points, 254 players were ahead of him and he was tied with 20ish players with 20 points.

Career year, 1st in goals for the Red wings=so what.

He is literally just a placeholder there.
