Rangers were building a championship caliber team before the lottery win and landing Lafreniere. Staal’s contract was a problem and now it’s gone. I expect they will address the Center position next.

I just hope he doesn't get extended with term and top 4 money. Too many veterans in the top roles in Detroit plugging up the roster with garbage for too long its time to go all in youth. He is a welcome addition to the roster to provide some presence and a second on top is a nice add. I just hope new management has an expiration date in mind unlike previous management. If we were going to take on a cap dump I would have liked to have gone bigger

True, but NYR cap situation this year was nowhere near as bad as TO last year.

Dubas was, publicly, over a barrel and totally screwed.
