Which is a shame. Compher is a competent middle 6 Swiss Army Knife. He won't wow you, he can sometimes frustrate, but he's a good utility player that any team could use.
Just not at $5M per.

They picked up Johansen and Wood for a combined salary of 6.5 million and they also picked up Ross Colton to be be re-signed.

This was a deliberate choice to not bring back Compher. There is a reason for that.

This is an overpayment by Detroit for a mediocre player.
