Clearly you are not familiar with this player. He is in no way shape or form better than what we currently have in the system, and he's a LD which we already have a ton of.

Also, why are you talking about "asking price" for a UFA? If for some unknown reason they wanted to sign him just wait till July 1. Its not like teams will be lining up to sign him. Failing defensemen that are primarily AHL fodder are a dime a dozen. No point in giving up assets for them

If a defense starved team like the Canucks are not qualifying this guy it tells you something. We gave up a 4th to take a stab at a reclamation project here, now we're throwing in the towel after two seasons. It is unlikely that a fresh start is going to help Pouliot.
