Well, San Francisco hasn't found a QB as good as Carr for 10 maybe 20 years now. What's that say about them as a franchise?
I recall during their SB run that people talked about Jimmy being better than Carr. Those 2 are forever linked because they came out of the same draft in round 2.
Carr landed with the Raiders and beat out Schaub as the starter as a rookie, while Jimmy sat behind Brady for 3 full seasons before getting a chance to start due to brady's suspension and didn't last past game 2 before a shoulder injury. Yet, they managed to get virtually identical contracts coming off their rookie deals. One guy starting over 60 games the other under 10 games.

Carr is one of those paper tiger QBs. The actual guaranteed money and term reflects that fact.

Raider should coin commitment to mediocrity as a trademark.

Carr-Adams are friends. Big deal. It's not like Adams is going to be Randy Moss. Raiders always get one or two big wins every year and then flounder for the rest of the season. Never mind the toxicity of Belichick fruit planted there either. He's done more making economic waves than actual football waves. He's never won, but he's always made trades.

Funny, I just saw their qb carry 2 game balls off the opponents field this postseason.

Raiders haven’t done that since Rich Gannon.

What the 2 games where he threw a combined 300yds, no TDs and 2 picks. Yep, he really won them those games. If the 49ers actually had a high opinion of him they wouldn't have traded a massive package to move up and pick Lance.

This no playoff wins talk is the same crap people said about Stafford for years and he just led his team to a Super Bowl win.

I’m not the hugest Stafford fan but he got out of Detroit. Carr is still with the Raiders. Until he actually does win some games he’ll be the guy with 0.

Garoppolo is 30 and gets injured often. They needed to look towards the future. But in his 5 years here look at their record with and without him. He was a difference maker here.

If Carr had played for the 49ers the past 5 years he'd have several playoff wins too. The Raiders probably would've only had 2-3 wins the past couple years without him. He's a difference maker. Neither guy is great or anywhere close to it but they're good and it's not that easy to replace a QB like that. Just ask the Bears, Jags, Dolphins and several other franchises.

Jimmy has been on the trade block this off-season and still sitting on the SF roster.
If the Raiders put Carr on the block, he'd have been moved by now with the need at QB from other teams.

If you put QBs in 4 tiers of 8, Carr lands comfortably somewhere in Tier 2. Jimmy now, probably in Tier 3 because of his durability issues and inconsistent play. Tier 4 is where you have the likes of a Darnold, Lock, Jones, and some unproven kids like Z. Wilson, Mills, etc.

That's exactly the way I look at it.

I’m continually impressed with what Carr does late in games to keep things competitive. He doesn’t fall apart under pressure. He’s not elite, but he can help you win games.

Carr is better than Garoppolo is right now without a doubt. He’ll likely get a win or more this postseason.

Jimmy just never gets the credit for his situational ability late in games to help pull out wins. People look at his statline but don’t see the 3rd down conversations that help set up game-winning scores.
