You know, a team doesn’t have to buy or sell at the deadline.

You’re looking down the road but offer nothing besides trade the 2nd line center because the team isn’t doing great this year. How is trading Krejci and hoping you get someone better any different than buying at the deadline and hoping they make a run?

There must be some player out there you think would make a good replacement.
I’m mentioning him because he’s a free agent after this year. Of course other guys that are also free agents, are on the list.

By not blowing up the core and just trading Krejci and Ritchie tells me you have some kind of plan to replace them with better players and compete in the next 3 years.

Yah, it’s not like they total suck. It would be a shame to lose Krejci for nothing. Remember Eriksson? That was a blunder.
The team needs a shake up.

You’re the GM what are you asking for
A first for sure. Idk what players are worth. The GM would, because he’s always talking to the other GM’s. I’m a fan. Fans usually over rated their side of the equation. The TD usually gets a good haul do to teams trying to go for it.

Krejci isn’t walking if he’s offered a deal. Can’t remember why Eriksson walked but I really don’t think that has anything to do with replacing Krejci.

So the team that’s pretty solidified in playoffs should be sellers.
You have 15 teams then which one needs Krejci can fit the contract in and will give up a first and is not in his NMC

seems like would be difficult and probably not go over well with the team

I know If I was on that team I would be bull shit

Teams on 104 point pace selling off one off top players and leaders I’ll admit I’ve never seen done but I only go back to late 60’s

Yeah I dont see the point in acquiring a pick in what is said to be a below average draft year when the Bruins are very likely to make the playoffs. Stand pat or add a cheap player or two and see what happens IMO. Or make a splash for a player who will be here more than a year.

So target 22 and 23 picks if you don’t like 21.

Of course, I remember 2014 being a below average draft too while everyone was excited about 15.

Don’t be swayed by yesterday. In te playoffs, the first line will be targeted. Then what? They’re going to waste another bunch of picks and get bumped. It’s been going on for years.
What do you think they will do?????????

You are literally the person on this board who understands hockey the least. If anyone wants Krejci traded its because the team is playing shitty and he would bring in a decent haul. He is allowed to re-sign with the Bruins after the expansion draft.

I love Krejci but no he is not a f***in Hall Of Famer. Give your head a shake.
What i forgot about hockey...You havent even learned.

Your not blowing it up, your retooling. You can keep giving up picks every year at the TD. They get burned all the time. They don’t have the horses. The 1st line will be hacked like crazy and the rest can’t pick them up. If you can do a quick retool in the off-season, maybe you can rebound without hitting rock bottom. It’s not an easy move but a necessity at this point. Does Sweeney have the guts to do it.
Trade Krejci is blowing it up....May as well trade Bergie and Marchand also. And Rask.

The Krejci victory laps around here are funny....Puts up a great half dozen games after being invisible for the first twenty and there are a bunch of "Krejci haters suck it" posts..

LOL. A 7 million dollar center playing how a 7 million dollar center should play..what a concept.

If the Bruins go far, he will be the one that does it. You do not trade him at this point

You do not trade him if you are going for it. If Carlo and Rask are done and we are not gonna be contending you absolutely trade Krejci and just re-sign him after the expansion draft.

Krejci is fine, sweenys big signings of Backes and now Coyle hurt the cap far more if we talk about getting value. How much value did they ever get out of that Johm Moore contract for what they paid

Trade Krejci to Columbus for their 1st in ‘21 or ‘22...either way it is at least a mid-rounder. Columbus is crying for a playmaking center.

Keeping Krejci is a loss...we’re a playoff team with him, but not a Cup team. Worse yet, signing him to an extension after this year is a commitment to mediocrity: just keep riding an aging core until it collapses.

Get value while we can. This is a bullshit season to begin with and it will always have an asterisk next to it.

Since 2015-16 year 1 of Krejci 7.25 aav contract

He has played 390 games
92 Goals
208 Assists
300 Points

That averages out too
Per 82
19 Goals
44 Assists
63 Points

I’d say he has lived up just fine to his contract

You might be the only guy here that still thinks he should perform like a 7 million dollar center. He signed that contract like 6 years ago, he's obviously not the same center as he was in year 1, but hes a solid second line center at this point and to judge him based on a contract that is about to expire continues to baffle me.

That being said 23 points in 30 points for 7 mil isn't that bad...

Pre 7.25 million dollar Krejci he averaged
61 points a season

Since making 7.25 million dollars he averages
63 points a season

Krejci number have improved since signing his 7.25 aav contract
