When will the Media start asking the hard questions?
We are hearing more about this issue from out of town sources...
I don't hear much of a peep regarding our weak core from our finest journalists?

I honestly don't really care how many hits he has, but to voluntarily skate away from a loose puck in the offensive zone to avoid taking a hit? Go play ****ing roller hockey if you don't like contact...

We really need a gif of that play from last night

I missed the game last night and really want to see the play in question...can't say I'm surprised

Desharnais is the forward version of MAB, except without the shot...yknow, the only redeeming quality MAB had

That's the same idiot who said we should've drafted Esposito and Veilleux instead of Max and PK.

DD does keep the o-zone face-off circle nice and clean, surely it must mean something in MT's eyes.

Unfortunately that is what's going to have to happen before MT splits DD and Patch. Even then..I swear he'd send DD out in a wheelchair to play with Patch...or try to fit Patch with one of those baby carrier backpacks and carry DD around on the ice before he'd split them up.

Where the hell is Blou to shop this image ffs?

Okay, I will drop this shelter or not because you're being obtuse.
Even if he did face the toughest opposition, HE NEEDS TO PRODUCE MORE. Can you understand this??? There is no defending his production sheltered or not.
Yet another way to look at it: the 5-on-5 scoring numbers per 60 minutes for the forwards this year. Not even the score-close numbers, just the 5-on-5 numbers:

Weise 2-5-7 2.47 P/60
Plekanec 5-5-10 2.16
Max 7-3-10 2.10
Galchenyuk 4-5-9 2.00
Gallagher 5-4-9 1.99
Eller 5-2-7 1.72
PAP 3-4-7 1.67
Sekac 2-2-4 1.59
DD 0-7-7 1.53
Prust 1-3-4 1.19
Bourque (gone) 0-2-2 0.81
Bournival (injured) 0
Moen (gone) 0
Malhotra 0

So.. 9th in production amongst the top-9 forwards, the only forward save Malhotra without an ES goal, the lowest production on the roster for anyone not eating defensive zone starts, and being outproduced by .. well, everyone. And oh yeah, all this despite DD sporting a team-high 106.97 PDO and the third-highest ES minutes per game!

This situation was entirely predictable. Useless midget. Be gone already!

Some DD's fans was calling that he'll get to 70-75pts this year "cause he will not have another slumps like last year" which was supposed to be an anomaly.

He's also at the bottom of the forwards group for:

Shots, ranked #7 but the #6 got twice as many shots:

Hits, Ranked #13 ahead of Bowman and Bournival  :shakehead

Takeaway: Ranked #8

What an offensive player....

DD is a 3rd line centre. If he wasn't so good at faceoffs there's no way MT could keep him as our #1 C.

Well Gallagher is the same size and has no issues going through these battles. If he doesn't want to partake in them, then he needs to come up with a better strategy than dumping it behind the Dman and not going into the corner to battle it out. So basically, come up with something better than giving the puck away.

As for the rest, I agree, DD is given leniency of an established top liner in the NHL. It's insane.

Two completely different players...Gallagher plays that way because it actually makes him effective and truthfully, he'd probably be even more effective if he was more judicious about how much energy he expends out on a shift

Desharnais isn't and ever will be as feisty s Gallagher is. It's pretty pointless to expect him to be.

There are a lot of knocks we can give Desharnais, not engaging players 6 inches taller and 50 lbs heavier, isn't one of them.
