Very shocking... he was one of my favorite Oilers. The offensive talent could not have done what they did without Mr. Semenko... not saying they wouldn't have still been successful but they wouldn't have been nearly as free as they were.

He fought through other challenges in life and has been such an ambassador for the Oilers organization throughout the years. He was taken from us way to early.

Probert better keep his head up the the Big House!

What a shame. I just saw him on telecasts of the Oilers playoff games and he was sitting up in a private box with Gretzky and a few others.


Evidently, he was diagnosed just 3 weeks ago.

Lowe said the cancer was detected about three weeks ago at a medical appointment, and his condition rapidly deteriorated.

Sad news, great memories of Semenko in the 80's, great teammate and was a real important player on those great
Oiler teams.

Man I hate and hated the Oilers, and few more than Semenko. But man this hurt to hear. Despite my biases, clearly a great man was lost. Condolences to all those close to him and to Oilers fans. Really great response from a great organization (family). So sad for the loss. #cement
