Interesting thing about Gordon is he will be under directive from Fletcher no doubt. He will get crushed in strategy like a b*tch, but the player usage is what I want to see. And guys like Sanheim he really has a shine to given he played for him and raved about him. Or Hagg.......or MacDonald.......awwww f*cccccck.

Problem is Scott/Holmgren.
Will they let Fletcher blow the team up and write off the season?
Or will he have to make bad trades to show they're still "competitive?"

I like to see a major tear down, move all the veterans but Giroux and Couts, and maybe Gudas (need someone with an edge) add a lot of youth and speed, and assets to flip in June for more youth and speed.

If we're going to go a new direction, stop half assing it like the last 7 years, and embrace the new NHL.

Fletcher probably wants someone more in tune with the new NHL, my bet is on Keefe.

Yup. Gordon is not a good X’s and O’s Coach and I wouldn’t expect them to make a playoff run or anything, but I think less hands on coaching will do this team some good. At least maybe it’ll help to make better individual evaluations.

No, you just don't read what doesn't fit your preconceived notions.

I've said repeatedly they should have traded Simmonds and Voracek in 2015 instead of trying to be competitive during the rebuild - and my suspicion was Hextall's hands were tied by Snider/Homer.

Now the question is whether Fletcher has the authority to blow it up and rebuild in the image of what he thinks is needed to compete in the new NHL.

We not talking a complete rebuild, rather, like Toronto moving Kessel, etc.
Flyers have a core, G, Couts, TK, Patrick, Lindblom, Provorov, Sanheim.
They'll soon be adding Frost, Ratcliffe, Allison, Myers, Rubtsov, etc.

So I'd like to see a bunch of the other players shipped out and some faster, aggressive players obtained.
Instead of hoping that one or two additions will get them deep into the playoffs, build a fast young team that can compete for a decade, and move on from the players who couldn't get the job done the last decade.
