Not sure how high his potential is, but he's a pretty solid defender. Good skater, has a good first pass, solid enough intelligence, and pretty calm defenceman overall under pressure.

Doesn't really have any offensive skills, picture someone like a Brett Kulak as a bottom-three pairing bloke.

Should immediately slide right into the 2nd pairing. 1st pairing potential.

innnnntttteresting. I'd imagine he'll compete for a 3rd pairing job next year. Actually might make a Girard trade more realistic this offseason.
Zhuravlyov scored 6 points in the KHL this year, he’s not replacing anyone except Andreas Englund.

Will be interesting to finally see him in the flesh but there’s very very little upside here.

Next Andrei Mirinov? He seems a lot more fluid skating and obviously some people are hyping in jest, but I’m sure some genuinely believe that he’s on the third pair next year. At most I could see him getting a call up if we have some bad injuries next year.

Byram replaces G. Danila replaces Byram on the 3rd pair. Realistically, Danila is probably a Jack Johnson replacement. With MacDermid signed already I wouldn't mind re-upping Murray on a league min deal just for some insurance when healthy. All I'm saying is that it gives us more options next season.

And yes, don't trade Girard for the sake of trading him, but if someone like Scheifele is available you pull the trigger.
Ah the old 'Colin - you should have f***ING KNOWN I can't stay healthy but decided to sign me anyways' Wilson 1 year contract for no good reason special ?

He may get games just as a pure depth guy… I mean we use 10++ defensemen a year. But he’s got next to zero puck skill. Solid skater and good in his gaps. No more than a bottom pairing guy at best, but really he’s a middle pairing AHL guy that’ll have to work to become a pk specialist. Given the trades this year, signing him for depth makes sense.

Dude was the KHL rookie of the month for September. Does this mean he comes over next season for sure, like 100%?

I’m actually really happy with this, I don’t think Zhuravylov has offensive upside but the few times I’ve seen him his skating has stood out and he seemed quite solid defensively.
He could end up being a poor man's, poor man's Sylvain Lefebvre

I predict one year with the Eagles and then back to Russia a la Mironov
