Also worth noting Dallas hasn't lost a game since this article was published, nearly two weeks ago.

Those showdowns have been pretty good in recent years. More often than not, the team least expected to win before the game, ends up winning.

It used to be that these were some of the most ridiculously fun up and down, defense optional games short of the All Star Game. I think those days are looong gone.

The impressive part is they can win in different ways.

Before tonight they had scored 20 goals in the previous 5 games, with scoring from all lines.

Then tonight get 40 saves and only allow 1 goal from an outstanding goaltending performance ( by the back up too)

3rd in the league for GAA. Top 6 for PK.

Have 4 deep lines which suddenly have chemistry. And 7 or 8 strong defenseman including heiskanen who could continue his upswing to be in Norris contention by end of year.

You could argue that Gurianov at wing and fedun on defense were unlucky to be scratched tonight to make way for Klingberg and Hintz. Great depth.

Havent even mentioned Bishop who we know will be a massive factor come playoff time.

A definite contender in the West this year.

Lost in double overtime of game 7 in the 2nd round last year to the eventual champs...as of right now, Dallas look a better team than last year too.

Add to that a full season of Roope Hintz, a guy bouncing back a bit offensively in Janmark, and an even better Heiskanen, and you have a completely different team from last season.

Pretty well. Not getting too many points but he's been been getting chances and creating stuff. Also kind of suprised how good of a penalty killer he is and how solid at taking draws. Even looked pretty good at Center for a couple of games when Hintz out. He usually plays most or second most minutes of the Stars forwards .

Last night's win, combined with the Avs loss, gave Dallas sole possession of 2nd in the Central.

They're now 14-10 on the year.

Ahead of them?

St. Louis, at 14-10.

One point back of them would be Winnipeg. Their record?

They haven't been boring on this run. Been scoring a lot of goals and getting chances generated throughout the lineup. They don't play as heavy of a defensive style as they did, it's still good but they are much more noticeable offensively now
