I’d love to pry Stankoven loose if you’re getting both and Hanifin is extending

This is tremendous value though and definitely one I think is worth taking if they can’t get more elsewhere

With rumors of Seguin maybe going on LITR

To DAL:
Hanafin (sign and trade)
Tanev
(No retention)

To CGY:
- 2024 1st (for Hanafin)
- 2024 2nd
- Bichsel
- 2025 1st (for Tanev)
I'd sooner them keep the 2nd and Bischel and send us Bourque. Assuming Stankoven is unavailable. We need a C prospect. I'd do the deal as is though assuming there isn't a better offer.

Honestly not sure that Dallas needs both, that makes a pretty crowded blue line

Could/would they move Lindell or Hakanpaa after doing something like this?

That seems pretty fair over all. I'd do it. Then turn around and see if some of those assets could pry Necas from Carolina if he's actually available.

For those asking for Bourque, I am pretty sure Nill has Bourkoven off the table, so this was my best attempt at a Dallas offer for both with no retention on Tanafin

I think Dallas is trying to run:

Robertson - Hintz - Pavelski
Marchment - Duchene - Seguin (litr until playoffs)
Benn - Johnston - Stankoven
Steel - Faksa - Dadonov
Bourque (for inquiry call up)

Harley - Heiskanen
Hanafin - Tanev
Suter - Lindell/Hakanpaa

Oettinger
Wedgewood

I like Bichel and the draft capital is really nice. Just wouldn’t say LD is an organizational need for prospects given what they have. Would be willing to sacrifice some of the picks to get Bourque or Stankoven

If Nill has them completely off the table then imo this is still a deal worth taking for the flames, unless another team matches or beats it. The cumulative value is really solid, well done

It's not too bad but a signed Hanifin makes the return a little bit weak IMO. If Hanifin isn't willing to sign then it's fair.

If Hanifin is signing long term I would want Bourque in the deal instead.

Well.. It's a lot to give up from Dallas so I can't say you went cheap.

Interesting deal.

Not the first to do it, nor would we be the last.

Blame the NHL for allowing this to happen over and over again.

Can't see Bourque or Stankoven at all. The value is the OP is probably the most any team could convince the Stars to part with.

This also means Hakanpaa would be our 7th D. Makes for a very crowded roster overall.

Probably also turns it from 2 1sts to 2 2nds though if that's the case

Conroy clearly believes Tanev can bring back a 1st and looks completely willing to risk taking that ask right to the deadline.

At that point you are talking about Bischel, a 1st, and a 2nd for a signed 27 year old top pairing defender who is playing the best hockey of his career. To me that falls short and I think Calgary could do better looking elsewhere. Bischel to me isn't a guy who can be the centerpiece in such a deal.
