  • All teams MUST be under the cap at all times, any trade completed that puts a team over the cap will be vetoed.
  • Use CapGeek to find players salaries as well as NTCs and NMCs.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset="Waivers"]
  • If you'd like to place a player on waivers, post in this thread along with the player's contract information.
  • To save time and avoid confusion and complications, waivers will be "first come, first serve". Whoever puts in a claim first will get the player.
  • If you claim a player and he puts you over the cap, it will be vetoed and the said player will be put back on the waiver wire.
  • Teams will have 12 hours to claim a player off the wire before he clears.
  • Once a player is placed on waivers, he cannot be taken out until he clears. Once he clears, you may send him through re-entry waivers if you wish, but keep in mind if someone puts in a claim you will have to pay half of the player's salary and cap hit.
  • Only 2 players can be place on waivers

  • Keep in mind that any deal the League thinks is outrageous can and will be vetoed, so don't pull anything stupid.
  • If a trade puts a team over the cap, it will be vetoed.
  • If a deal is vetoed, you won't be able to make the exact deal again.
  • Trading is not allowed before all GM's have joined. Any deal announced before this will be vetoed.

[fieldset="Re-signings and signings"]
  • To re-sign a player on your team, PM the respective agents for your RFA's,
  • Pending FA's can be found at CapGeekTry to re-sign in groups, it makes it easier for the agents.
  • Don't skimp out on an offer, if you make a terrible offer the player may not re-sign with you at all.
  • Not all players will re-sign, in fact, the majority will probably test free agency.
  • Any player not re-signed by 11:59 P.M. the day before free agency will enter free agency, and you will not have exclusive rights.
  • Just because you made the first, or highest, offer for a player during free agency does NOT mean he will sign with you. Many factors go into a player signing so nothing is a sure thing.
  • The League Can veto any Signing if it feels that it is outrageous
[/fieldset]
[fieldset="RFA"]
  • Each team gets 2 offersheets
  • The team that owns the player can match as much as it wants
  • RFA's are automatically qualified
[/fieldset]

[fieldset="Other Rules"]
  • Inactivity will not be accepted. If you have just one post in the thread one day before the deadline, you will be fired.
  • You MUST keep your roster and Trading block Update
  • Posting in the thread doesn't necissarily mean you will get the job you wanted. Post the team you want and the job you want and I will determine who gets the jobs.
  • If a player is out for the season due to injury, he can't be added to your roster and won't count against your cap. If he's injured but not expected to be out for the rest of the season, he's in play and still counts.
  • If you have any questions regarding the game or how it works, feel free to ask me.

We feel that we have one of the best rosters out on the ice. With a top 6 like ours consisting of stars Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Hall, Alfredsson and more, we can easily say we have the best top 6 in the league. And this has come without sacrificing our defense. A top 4 of Orpik, Letang, Smid and Hamonic should be one the best defensive cores in the league and with All-Star goalie, and Stanley Cup Winner MA Fleury back in the cage, we are the most promising team for the 2012-2013 season.[/FIELDSET]

People need to post their rosters as well. Or I will not vote them in the playoffs.

Ps: I'll send my votes tonight or tomorrow. Just been swamped lately.
No problem I am as well that is kinda pushy on getting votes sent tonight since I wasn't sure if I have the time tomorrow

TJ Galiardi - Joe Pavelski - Daniel Winnik
Brad Winchester - Michal Handzus - Jamal Mayers

Marc-Edouard Vlasic - Dan Boyle
Ryan Whitney - Brent Burns
Kyle Quincey - Jason Demers

Antti Niemi
Thomas Greiss

The additions of Andrew Ladd, Milan Michalek and Bryan Litltle give this squad outstanding scoring depth and tons of versatility. With Thornton, Couture, Pavelski and Handzus down the middle, we have arguably the best depth at center in the entire league. Ryan Whitney provides us with a high-end puck-moving defenseman and Kyle Quincey is a gritty, two-way rearguard who can play in any situation. Our transition game from the back end will be unmatched and we have an incredibly balanced and mobile defense corps. Antti Niemi is a Cup-winning goalie who steps up his play in the postseason.

[fieldset=2012-2013 Roster Overview]

Call it, Extreme Makeover: New York Islanders Edition. This is a much different, and much better version of last years team.

We improved significantly at forward, adding Travis Zajac, Jaromir Jagr, David Booth, Tyler Kennedy, Derick Brassard, Matt Halischuk, Dwight King, Michael Frolik, Steve Sullivan and Mike Rupp. The offense will of course, revolve around franchise super star, John Tavares. There is tons of scoring depth throughout the line up. We feel this group of players are extremely versatile, and we can put out a number of different looks. I don't think there is any line that can dish out the physicality of our 4th line.

Another major overhaul, the defense of the Islanders improved significantly. Mark Streit and Andrew MacDonald are the only returning members of last years group. They are joined by newcomers Willie Mitchell, Alex Goligoski, Zybnek Michalek, Mark Fistric and Tim Eixson. Mitchell becomes the steadying veteran presence. Goligoski is mobile, offensive minded defender, who will bolster the power play and help our break outs. Michalek is a terrific defender, who blocks a lot of shots and is excellent on the PK. Mark Fistric is just a big, physical, mean guy, who will make opposing forwards pay. And we have young guns Tim Erixson and Matt Donovan waiting in the wings.

In net, we made possibly the greatest trade of all time... Sending Rick DiPietro and his 214 year contract to Nashville. That alone improves this position. Oh yeah, and we also got Cory Schneider. Schneider is emerging as the premier young goalie in the NHL. We coveted him highly, and were beyond happy to have him between the pipes for a DP-amount of time. Evgeni Nabokov will be an excellent option for around 25 games this year.

So all in all, we feel improved in all positions, and the core is young enough to keep this franchise competitive for years to come.[/fieldset]

Hate to interject, because I think your team is actually pretty good, but, you did give up Yandle, OEL and Morris, who were your 1-2-3 D-men. Granted, you replaced them with Hedman -Phaneuf and Hammer, but Morris was a first pairing guy with Yandle. Morris was the unheralded guy who made Yandle the d-man he is.

(Oh, guess who has Morris? :sarcasm:)

I dont see this team as good as the last. I don't really like the second line with Bailey and Raymond. The D is probably better then what he started with, i just think the yotes could use some more offense. But with Tippet as your coach, and if Smith has another great season they could still be a tough team

We feel we have what it takes to go all the way this year. Strong forward crop along with a strong defense. Goaltending has been boosted from Anderson who we believe would of made or broke our season. We decided to go with a younger and more steady netminder in Lethonen and believe we have the right recipe to win!

I mean, a good average second line gets you 40 points, and that second line could do that. I personally like Yandle - OEL - Morris a TINY bit more, only because I have two of those defenders. Remember, OEL was a second pairing guy (Who outplayed Yandle, granted), Morris was a first pairing guy. But, I still think they're a playoff team. They didn't downgrade their D that much, or at all, and added some nice pieces offensively, considering what they had no choice but to lose (Whitney)

Yeah its hard to say who i'd have in Hedman or OEL. Both are good young Defencemen. I dont know if i see them as a playoff team. With LA, SJ, Van, Blues, Hawks, Nash, and the possibly the Wings i'd see finishing ahead of them. So that comes down to your Jacktes, maybe the ducks, maybe the Oilers and the Yotes all fighting for the last few spots. Even the Avs have a decent team for this year. This is just my 2 cents, doesnt mean its right though

I would have had a better second line with Ennis centering Raymond and Zubrus and Malone on 1st line LW but people in this game (you know who you are) don't follow rules on how to send a deal to a commish so the deal got vetod so if I don't make it or lose in 1st round I blame this GM

Nash does not have a completed roster. They should not be in the playoffs. Not sure if Detroits roster is complete either. Seriously, does anyone look at rosters :shakehead

I did say possibly the Wings... they still have an above avg team. Nash still has great goal tending, one of the best defencemen, plus some other good young D. Offense is still weak, but thats never been there strong point. Trotz does wonders with that team. I still think they could make the playoffs

Yes i did look at the rosters. Like I said its just what i think, doesnt mean what would happen. Who knows with injuries, which players have off years, and which players have career years

This may be just me, but I refuse to vote teams like Nashville in the playoffs who are missing several forwards. Don't know where you came up with all this career year stuff and how good Trotz is. Unless a bunch of players can double shift, that team should not be in the playoffs

I agree so whole-heartedly with this. Nashville doesn't have a complete team. That's that. Nor does Washington. For those reasons, they shouldn't be in the playoffs. In fact, I think they should be competing for the number 1 overall pick.
