Eight of Spades took a lot of unwarranted flak IMO, but if he can pull out Richards, I think you gotta give him props. He's got a deep, deep team in Chicago that only has a plethora of cheap hyped rookies coming up.

I'm hoping he pulls it out, mostly so I don't have to feel bad about it anymore. ;)

UFA defenseman update!

Ehrhoff has narrowed his offers down to 5 teams:

Toronto
Buffalo
Winnipeg
Pittsburgh
Vancouver

He'll be singing with one of them tonight. GM's get your latest offers in!

Pitkanen is still looking for more offers, and will wait for Ehrhoff to sign before making a decision.

Ed Jovanovski has narrowed it down to 2 teams, the Red Wings and Avalanche. He'll be deciding shortly.

Ian White and Anton Babchuk will also be signing shortly.

IT'S SO HARD TO DO!

Both teams have line-ups Richards would like, they both have been upping offers, and have both made excellent points as to why their team should get Richards

It's tearing me apart! This is a really difficult decision, and I'm going to be hated by one gm after I make it

While I dislike both teams, I must say Chicago has more of a play-off line-up where the Rangers have the more marquee players.

It's also about location, money, and the teams. Also line combo's

So many factors go into a big bidding war like this, it's insane.

Both teams have made moves to get cap room. So when one team loses out, they basically lost a lot of cap for nothing

Goaltending... advantage NYR. Although I think JP may be swayed by Crawfords performance against the Canucks to not ding Chicago hard on that one. Crawford was all world in the last half and esp. game 7. What a coming out party.

Defense... advantage CHI. I don't think you can question this.

Forwards... I'd give advantage CHI. They're deep and full of gumption to win. Like you said, they're battle ready for the playoffs and that lineup just wreaks of experience.

What is the length of the deals? The first looks like 10 years.
