It looks like I'm selling my toaster store boys. Perhaps I'll open a store to sell horse blinders for hockey fans.

We should have a reminisce thread from longtime STHs, looking back at things like games with 3,000 people, Scottsdale Red Wings fans vandalizing the bathrooms, anything involving Tyson Nash or Josh Gratton, the difference in hue in Gretzky's face when he yelled at the refs versus what it looked like on TV, etc.

I do remember the game that I saw with the single worst attendance: October 2009 against St. Louis. It was so early in the year, and the only other game prior to that was the home opener. I kind of recoiled, and thought, "Wait, this is what being a season ticket holder is like? We had so many fans for the opener..." That was when I discovered how few STHs there were that year and the efforts to get butts in seats.

Does anyone remember that they gave season ticket holders like 50 business cards with a code on the back that you could give to others for a reduced price to go to the game?

Hey that was my first year. If I'm remembering correctly I had two lower level ends with parking, the right to buy as many more as I wanted for same price, the right to exchange unused for other games, discount card for merch, and all for the total price of $3600.

All I remember is freezing my ass off at that game. With so few people there was no body heat to offset the aircon.

Maybe the housing crash/recession had an impact on season ticket sales.

The bankruptcy was the biggest killer, followed by the futility of the Gretzky rosters. I'm sure the recession played into it too, but this was smack in the middle of the Judge Baum/Goldwater/Moyes + Balsillie collusion and NHL ownership. There was really nothing there outside of rubbernecking interest.

But Hughes?? I'm bored so just looking back at least few drafts. Dal Colle goes 5th in 14, Perlini 12th, point in 3rd round, and Arviddson in 4th. Now we are tempted to say Tampa and Nashville are geniuses but dont forget they both picked multiple times passing on their future stars as well.
It happens every year. That's why they say the draft is a crap shot.

Forgot to add I'm absolutely terrible at looking at young players and projecting growth. Hats off to those who are good at it.
Join the club. Even the so called experts pick a few dilly's.

Morgan indicated on Twitter that he saw Jenik on crutches entering Scottsdale Ice Den to meet w/Coyotes Medical Staff, so my guess is that he's being evaluated for possible surgery or other treatment options and that was 4 days ago.

Morgan speculated that he’d go see Chychrun’s miracle knee doctor. The guy with all the articles written about him. The worlds greasers ever knee guru. Where is he? Colorado maybe?

It's funny how experts work. The NHL guys have a few they use while you read almost every summer about NBA guys going to Germany for knee issues.

There is a hand specialist in LA that's worked on numerous star athletes like Drew Brees and Mike Trout.

Who is Drew Brees' thumb surgeon? Meet Dr. Steven Shin, no stranger to star athletes

I think Chayka is going to reap the reward of making the tough call to first let Hayton go to the WJ and then to give him the go ahead to finish it hurt. That kid grew a ton over the last month.

Zadina is starting to show some value as well having nine points in the last month. Glad Hayton had a nice tournament.
