Desjardins was already hired for Canada (just not announced). Guessing he wouldn't want to do it anyway. That would have taken away the whole season for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is behind an NHL bench as early as November. Question is where.

He's been on staff for the IIHF team, for example, in different capacities including head coach several times without leaving his NHL gig. Not sure why it'd preclude him from taking a new job.

I'm saying he couldn't leave his NHL job in February to go coach the Olympics.

I'm sure Hockey Canada wants some sort of commitment so the coach doesn't bolt and they're left scrambling in the weeks before.
