I really hope they have a corresponding move lined up because only 1 year is too quick to give up on him. Unless he really had THAT bad of an attitude or other issues.

On July 2, 2013, seeking a long-term deal the Capitals allowed Ribeiro to become an unrestricted free agent. On July 5, 2013, the Phoenix Coyotes signed Ribeiro to a four-year, $22 million contract with a limited no-movement clause.

I can see other better ways of handling this though; this is just BS.

Is the savings spread out (not just cap but actual payments). I can see them having a budget and wanting to win this year. Also interesting to see if it frees up a Vrby resign and a big FA catch. I assumed it would be one or the other.

Yeah, if GMDM trades Boedker + Gormley + ? to Spezza, and Spezza can't be signed thereafter, I think we ll all be crying.
