This is ridiculous. We were going to make the playoffs and now these 3 games will leave us at a disadvantage so Ottawa will win the lotto with our pick. The only reasonable option for the NHL is to give us back our 1st this year and give Tampa's first in its place.

I think we should keep Tampa’s first as payment for the inconvenience of no playoff revenue due to these missed games

This is a fantastic opportunity to sell high priced VIP experiences to true fans. Meet and greet with the team. Pictures with the players. All that stuff. Be one of only 750 included at the game.

Here comes the excuse the owners will keep in their pocket to keep the salary cap pretty much flat for next season. $83 mil is my guess.

found the marketing guy!

They could probably throw together an ice rink at oracle if they really wanted to press their luck and have fans attend. My guess is they play in an empty arena because they wont want to keep their players on the road

It's all interesting. I still think people are over-reacting to this. Still it could be better to over-react and loss of life be kept relatively low than not to do nothing and we have more of a mess on our hands than we do now.

It really isn't bad, its just like every other outbreak in the past 10 years. People freak out nobody healthy dies, then every one blames the bad disease at the time because people already on there death bed caught it and died.

This is the exact same thing, an 80 year old in vancouver just died and the 1st thing they said was its because this coronavirus. But he had multiple other underlying issues, couldn't have nothing to do with that other stuff nope.

It's not like every other outbreak though. No outbreak of a new virus in the last 10 years has spread around the globe as quickly.

Death rates if elderly over 70 is way higher than the flu, based on current information.

Worldwide it is 113,000 cases and 4000 deaths. 2000 or so of them directly from china itself.

So what, about a dozen people would be inconvenienced over our few remaining games? ;)

They don't know the numbers and won't for a very long time. It's very possible that the virus had been around for quite a while before it become so widely known. Know anyone who had a bad cold in the last 6 months?

It really starts ticking up at around 50. It's kind of like a bioweapon targeted against Boomers.

I hope they cancel games or play in empty buildings. There is no reason to put people at risk for a sporting event.
