And Giroux for Weber 1 on 1 is likely a lateral move anyway... so why do it?

As for Getzlaf not being on the maybe list... him and Giroux is a 'toss up', but Giroux is younger and can skate; and actually Giroux has done more over the last few years with less help, on a worse team, without one of the best goalscorers in the NHL on his wing.

I do not think that is overvaluing Giroux either...

the only two players in the NHL over the last 3 years with clear PPG difference over him are:

Crosby: 117 points per 82
Malkin: 106 points per 82

Then it is:

Stamkos: 95 points per 82
Giroux: 90 points per 82

Tavares: 84 points per 82
Hall: 83 points per 82
Kessel: 83 points per 82

No-one else has over 1PPG in that time... and of these 7 players Giroux is the best defensively.
