Hopefully the last game he ever plays in a Wings Jersey.

Odds Lalonde just doubles Czarniks ice time instead of calling up one of the young guys?
Honestly when a fan makes a comment like this about a wings player who had his face broken with a high stick that wasn’t called, I’m almost glad they’re torturing us about making the playoffs.

The way they’re playing they may not deserve the playoffs but the way some fans are acting they don’t either. Holy entitlement.

Bellingham, WA
He’ll put a cage on and be good to go. Mildly like him or hate him, he’s a top-12 forward in the organization. Let’s hope he plays Thursday.
Sad but true.

It's gonna depend on how bad the fracture is and where the fracture is located. If he needs surgery he's done for the season. The team can suck with or without him.

Screw that. I hope he's out and they call up Kasper.

It’s very unfortunate he broke his cheek yes.

It’s also very unfortunate we have to watch him every game at that cap hit accomplishing nothing.

Both can be true. He doesn’t read this site, I promise you his feelings aren’t hurt.

“best wishes” on a website he won’t read from strangers doesn’t affect his life in any kind of way, the same way hoping he doesn’t play for us again also will not affect his life

Is Berggren coming?
I doubt it, although he is most ready, they won't burn his waiver exemption as Grand Rapids is in the playoffs and the entire organization is still in rebuild, either one of antique vets or possibly a kid (Kasper) if they want to expose him to NHL drive, but more likely Moose is going to be ready, or at least ready enough and they don't need a recall.

Edit Wings have recalled Aston-Reese under emergency conditions...

If the best wishes on a website he won't read from a stranger won't affect his life, neither does the endless screaming into the void about lines or cap hits that are too high or buyouts or prospects that are being unfairly treated that people do here either.

Some people (for whatever f***ing reason) can't disassociate what they perceive as a bad contract from the fact that he is on the team and playing for a playoff berth the same way as the other 20-something guys on the roster. That every game is a bad game because of the contract. And even if you could magically get rid of the contract, Yzerman isn't going to spend it to make the team significantly better, in fact he's probably going to spend it on another 3rd line center

Let's look at Copp's night last night...playing on a defensive matchup 3rd line with Fischer and Fabbri, wasn't on the ice for either of Washington's goals, won 7 of 9 faceoffs, and was injured drawing a penalty at a key time when the team looked lost...except the refs missed it, regrouped and doubled down on missing it.

The team as a whole had a pretty bad night. Like Compher getting abused in the faceoff dot and with one critical mistake failing to clear the zone and giving the puck to the Caps directly leading to the first goal. Or Seider failing to gather a puck passed into his skates and kicking the puck to the Caps in the neutral zone before blowing a tire and losing his man (Ovechkin) directly resulting in us giving up the second goal which was a back breaker. Like Copp, for what he is being asked to do, had a good but unspectacular game. He shouldn't have been a discussion at all, and yet here we are with this ridiculous discourse.

While not explicitly saying it, the majority of people in this thread are celebrating the fact that he was injured and are hoping that it results in an extended absence. They try to hide it by saying "it's unfortunate that he got hurt but..." but the true feelings aren't exactly hidden. And the hopes for missed time for what? Because we have multiple elite options just waiting to jump in as a third line center in the NHL in the final waning moments of a playoff push? Our coach doesn't want to use 25% of the players he currently has and people think that the savior is going to get called up from the minors? Okay then.

Hoping for an injury to an opponent is generally considered a shitty thing to do, but hoping for an injury to a player on your own team? You don't deserve to see the team succeed and you aren't actually a fan. Proceed to try to wordsmith your way around it.
