This is terrific. Murphy really turned a corner last year, and I expect him to continue his sharp development. At the very least, he's looking like a solid #3 who can kill penalties, but he's got potential to round into an all-situations #2 guy. Can't wait until he hits puberty.

Good money and term - thought we were going 2 year bridge deal at $2.5-2.75 M per season. That would have turned into a 5 or 6 year, $4.5 M AAV deal. This as about right on par with that and it locks up the last of our defensemen that we want to protect from expansion.

I am not sure it means much with Stone because of his injury. Stone is a tougher situation to figure out contract and value wise.
