And that is exactly what we were and what everyone expected the Oilers to be this season. The fact that we were a game from the conference finals tells us we're not far from being a contender, and we only need a few tweaks here and there.

The oilers were a first round team this season. They lucked into a second round berth when their first round opponent got decimated by injury just before the playoffs. The ducks were pretty badly injured too.
