Not pretending he's an offensive winger, but his history of goal scoring is proof enough he has skill. He's a got a role that Babcock has given him, and like a true team player he does his job every time he steps on the ice without moaning. He's a defensive checker. Back checks so the other team keeps their head up when trying to come out of their own end. You're the one that expects him to score, not even the coach expects that, just be happy he does his job and does it well. Being a good hockey player does not always means you have to score. What you do away from the puck is just as important. Done here, go leafs go!!!!
So how do you explain his minutes declining from 16 when he signed the contract all the way down to under 10 min here in the playoffs 2 years later? Not to mention the descension down the lineup to the 4th line? Some of you are so mired in denial it's unreal. It's impossible to have a rational conversation about a player. In fact, Babcock gave him a role and he's failed in that role, hence Babcock having to find a different role for him with much less responsibility.
