Congrats to the The Thrill!

70 more GP this season + another 8 years (assuming he doesn't miss a single game, not including playoffs) = 8.85 seasons

295 G needed to surpass Sundin's 420 G in a Leafs jersey... 295/8.85 = ~33 G/season for the next 8.85 seasons.

I'm assuming those totals don't take into account playoff goals. Because if it does, then Kessel currently has 130 G in a Leafs jersey and Sundin had 452 G.

Kind of funny but my first thoughts were "props to Tucker" :). Really was a heck of a guy for a lot of years.

Amazing how Kessel is just moving up the ranks :). Will have plenty of time to work his way up and will definitely be right up there by the time this current deal is over.

And yeah, long way to go to catch Mats. Damn, he really was the model of consistency. You could always count on his production and ability to carry the team.

Shouldn't all-time tallies include both regular and post-season?

All-time usually only counts regular season. Mostly because play-off games and points are variable due to how long a run is and not all team making it. Kessel has been with the Leafs for 4 years but last year was his first playoff year with the Leafs. Lumping playoff points in is not really fair in 'all-time' category.

He can do it if he mixes in a couple of 40 goals in there.

Kessel move into #30 all time in leafs goal scoring with 126:handclap:

#25 Borje Salming 148G
#26 Darcy Tucker 148G
#27 Doug Gilmour 131G
#28 Nick Metz 131G
#29 Gordie Drillon 127G
#30 Phil Kessel 126G

With a healthy year he should end up in the top 25:)

With a healthy week he could pass Gilmour:yo:

the fact that Kessel could be #1 for us by the time he's done makes me really excited. I hope he goes down as one of the great players in franchise history.
