Apparently there's a ton of misconceptions about what some of the common misconceptions around the hockey world are.

Thinking that because the league is shifting towards more skilled players rather than pests/enforcers means that the league is becoming "*****fied" or "softer."

The league is becoming softer not because it is getting faster and smaller. It is becoming softer because it started punishing physical play.

Played 90% of the season that mattered as wing with McDavid. Only got put back to playing C once the Oilers were all but eliminated because why not.

With McDavid taking the harder matchups, Drai couldn't even play #2C. Apparently Oiler fans state this is because he is stuck with garbage linemates. So an elite #1C can't even play #2C for the Oilers...hmmm

Anyways, Oiler fans started calling me a hater, one of them even accused me of eating Tide pods because I said Drai is an elite winger.

I think one day Drai could be an elite #1C. But he's not one today, and I don't think he ever will be with Edmonton.

Misconceptions about the Penguins:
1) Penguins are the only franchise to tank. Caps, Blackhawks, Oilers, Tampa, and others all tanked in the last 20 years. Unlike those teams, the Pens did it due to bankruptcy. No one willingly gives away Jagr, Straka, Kovalev, Lang in their prime.
2) Crosby is a whiner. Not since 2010.
3) Pittsburgh is small market. While yes it's smaller than most American NHL markets, Pittsburgh is bigger than Edmonton and Winnipeg COMBINED. It is also just barely smaller than Buffalo and Raleigh COMBINED.

The Oilers didnt tank either 3 of their 5 first overalls dont even go to them if the last place team picks first they were genuinely god awful from top to bottom and couldnt draft for crap out of round 1

Wait, are you actually denying that the Penguins tanked to get Lemieux?



Around the 6 minute mark in that video, the 1983-84 Penguins coach all but states outright that the management was tanking. Are you saying that he was lying?

And that disproves tanking in no way shape or form lmao Pit's staff admitted to tanking already its time you do too. NJ was also at the bottom of the league for a longer time than Pit due to being an expansion team Pit tanked, their personnel moves were for the purpose of tanking, not icing their best lineup possible was for the tank, letting a 4th string goalie play to finish the season was for the tank, having your 4th liners play more minutes than your best players was for the tank. The mental gymnastics you do (and for every other post you make on this site) continues to be amazing your brain should be looked at by scientists if you actually believe they didnt tank.
