Wait, are you actually denying that the Penguins tanked to get Lemieux?

Around the 6 minute mark in that video, the 1983-84 Penguins coach all but states outright that the management was tanking. Are you saying that he was lying?

You claim is laughable. It's ridiculous. And it's wrong.

And nothing wrong with it. They needed to do it to save the franchise. It worked.

And that disproves tanking in no way shape or form lmao Pit's staff admitted to tanking already its time you do too. NJ was also at the bottom of the league for a longer time than Pit due to being an expansion team Pit tanked, their personnel moves were for the purpose of tanking, not icing their best lineup possible was for the tank, letting a 4th string goalie play to finish the season was for the tank, having your 4th liners play more minutes than your best players was for the tank. The mental gymnastics you do (and for every other post you make on this site) continues to be amazing your brain should be looked at by scientists if you actually believe they didnt tank.

-Pittsburgh was the worst team in the league in 82-83. You called Pittsburgh a playoff team that year when I proved you wrong. Nothing more to talk about. 2 years before Lemieux was drafted Pittsburgh was the worst team in the league. Not 1 year. 2 years. The End.

You claimed the Penguins didn't tank. They tanked.

-There is a difference between being at the bottom and staying there, or letting another team tank on purpose to get the #1 pick and be worse then you even though they really arent. Pittsburgh was already at the bottom 2 years before the draft even took place. Sorry we outsmarted NJ and the rest of the league by staying at the bottom.

HA! Take that NHL, the Penguins outsmarted the league by intentionally tanking.

Your denial is straight up comical.

-Nope. We arent dumb enough to pass teams at the end of the season like Arizona did this year when they stunk all season long and were out of playoff contention by November then other teams tried to outank one another. So Pittsburgh stayed the worst team in the league 2 straight years in a row.

That a player's highest scoring season is automatically his best season.

In a team context, doing too much effectively is never better than doing exactly what's needed.
