How do y'all like Appert? He coached the college team when I was there, and I see he's been with Rochester for a little bit, and getting the call tonight in the NHL. Always cool to see someone you know in the NHL, regardless of what they're doing.

Good guy, very much a "dad" out there but not a guy I think who winds up as an NHL HC. Maybe could be the good-guy assistant on a team.

Interesting to hear him described that way now. He was definitely a firebrand and loose cannon back with RPI. Guess he mellowed out once he left RPI and started getting jobs with the national team and with the Amerks.
