Yeah, keeping Graves because he is a better partner for makar should bear no weight when deciding who to keep as Graves shouldn't be anywhere near Makar on the ice. The dude holds him back to an absurd extent.

Connor Murphy really interests me as an Avalanche fan. A big RHD who can PK is a big need. He’d be a great bottom pairing partner for Byram as a rookie and he can step into the top 4 whenever EJ gets hurt because we all know it will happen.

What might he cost? Looking at Capfriendly it seems like Chicago are probably not interest in moving a defenseman. My first thought in any Chicago trade is JT Compher who is from there but a forward may not really be a need for Chitown.
