It seemed to me, watching the last few games, that Samberg was jumping up and playing more offensively lately. Miller could be just the solid defense first guy to allow him to do more of that.

I don't expect Snerg to ever become an offensive Dman (don't want him to either). But he could add a nice little bit more offense.
Ever since Dillon went down and Samberg got that string of games with Pionk he's activated a lot more and looked really confident. I think Miller will compliment him really well. Samberg is one of my favorite players to watch, but I'm also a loser.

Exactly, me the same. Never heard of the guy till now

As long as we did not trade for Wade Miller!:help:
One of my long ago exes went on a date with wade Miller and I always make sure I bring that up when we see each other... haha

He's another demelo with a hard shot and knows bones system - love it
Best part is that now we will see what Samberg's numbers are like when he doesn't have to carry his d partner

Miller's put up some good defensive numbers.

His most common defensive partners over the last 3 seasons at 5v5:
720:46 with Heiskanen in DAL: 2.29 xGA/60.
350:32 with Bryson in BUF: 2.43 xGA/60
288:49 with Hughes in NJ: 2.67 xGA/60
228:38 with Suter in DAL: 2.51 xGA/60

Overall his on-ice numbers at 5v5 over the last 3 seasons (vs all defensemen >1000 TOI):
xGA/60: 2.38 (tied for 49th out of 234 - Top Jets: Samberg 2.32, 29th ; DeMelo 2.47, 82nd)
GF - GA: 121-86 (+35, 58.45% -11th best - Top Jets: Samberg 68-48 +20 58.62%, DeMelo 151-122 +29, 55.31%, Morrissey 193-156 +37 55.30%).

I hope he's not one of these guys whose team massively outscores opponents when he's on the ice but they lose the game anyway like that Ehlers guy! :sarcasm:

i haven't followed him in years, basically since around the VGK draft and when he played year 1 for them. this seems like a solid pickup.
