I'm the furthest thing from a Stanley fan you will find, but he is my ideal #7 d-man at the NHL level.
I may be further than you regarding being a fan of Stanley. He was a headscratcher when he was drafted and aside from a few decent games, he still is....to me. Definitely should be doing endorsements for Orville Reddenbacher (sic).

Miller's put up some good defensive numbers.

His most common defensive partners over the last 3 seasons at 5v5:
720:46 with Heiskanen in DAL: 2.29 xGA/60.
350:32 with Bryson in BUF: 2.43 xGA/60
288:49 with Hughes in NJ: 2.67 xGA/60
228:38 with Suter in DAL: 2.51 xGA/60

Overall his on-ice numbers at 5v5 over the last 3 seasons (vs all defensemen >1000 TOI):
xGA/60: 2.38 (tied for 49th out of 234 - Top Jets: Samberg 2.32, 29th ; DeMelo 2.47, 82nd)
GF - GA: 121-86 (+35, 58.45% -11th best - Top Jets: Samberg 68-48 +20 58.62%, DeMelo 151-122 +29, 55.31%, Morrissey 193-156 +37 55.30%).

I hope he's not one of these guys whose team massively outscores opponents when he's on the ice but they lose the game anyway like that Ehlers guy! :sarcasm:
Also on the PK over the last 3 seasons, Miller's got the 7th best xGA/60 at 6.14 (7th out of 192 defensemen with 100+ TOI on the PK).

Man, Chevy has nearly reconfigured this whole team, and for the better. this team looks nothing like the team that started the season. All these new guys like Names, Nino, Monahan, Tofolli, Villardi, Kupari, and now Miller.(7 players) Basically a whole new line, and good players. That's a lot of change and improvement, and if the chemistry is good, I'm expecting a very deep playoff run for the Jets. Great job Chevy.

He seems like a good pick-up. I wonder if being a natural righty leads to him being ahead of Schmidt in the depth chart.

The question I have is will Miller be slotted in above Pionk at some point? Neil struggles in the top 4 too often and could Miller could be a more reliable option with Dillon? Old coaches are the worst shills for player power politics so I guess we will see here.

It really helps when an injury occurs thats for sure. Samberg has turned into a real beauty, I am expecting him to have a very good playoffs this year (fingers crossed) 🤞
I think he will actually. He just gets better and better.

I hope so. I think Pionk will do well under those conditions.

I'm just hoping we see playoff pionk activated this spring.

He frustrates me more than many because you know he has it in him and its not for lack of effort.

He just seems to get dopey brain, making so many just dumb plays. I'm sure it's tied to confidence.

He always gets a pass from me because I think his give a shit meter is very high.

I agree, only 3rd line minutes. But if he is playing the oilers, he needs to be on McJesus.
