Been saying this since early in the season, that I don’t love the fit. They can do well together because they’re both good players, but the match isn’t great.

When Toews looks to impact the game offensively he lives deep in the offensive zone and leads the rush, driving through the middle of the ice. This leaves Makar as the guy who’s staying back.

I would go with those pairs too and when Sammy gets back put him with Toews. They have better chemistry together.

I’m having a Avs existential crisis. I don’t know how to root until the end of the regular season. I don’t think I want us to finish 1st and face a heavy and experienced Blues team that might get the benefit of the doubt in bullshit reffing.

Plus finishing 2nd removes the pressure of finishing 1st and might prevent the Avs from being too sure of themselves.

The goals against him have been on the PK mainly. Something he was brought in to strengthen hes only made worse.

Always root for the Avs to win just don't expect it and its a much more pleasant experience.

Man I thought this guy was finished when he was putting up 20-30 point seasons. Since then he's had 61 and 51 point seasons and was scoring at a 52 point pace again this season. Not bad. Not worth his money, but not bad.
