At least it is the good kind of controversy. Last year we didn't know who to play because they all sucked. This year we don't know who to play because they have all been good/serviceable.

I on the other hand I was a level 4 referee for 25 of them. I wasn’t lecturing I was pointing out the call was justified. Simple as that.

As a level 4 ref you would know it can be let go if viewed as incidental contact. It’s a judgement call where the refs would have leeway. Tripping is not an automatic call, especially in this league. As I said previously, if you feel is justified, fine. But some of use don’t think it is. It’s hardly a fact that it is one.

I hope getting your level4 as a ref wasn’t as mind numbing as getting it as a coach. Especially when it was overkill for some of the teams I coached.

I think conditioning stints in the AHL while riding the hot hand should be the way forward. Best case scenario our improved defense leads to us having multiple NHL-level goalies and a trade for something nice.

Power was good offensively, kinda treated the puck like a grenade defensively
The Jost goal is one Georgiev wants back
Power Play is brutal still
Benson will go back to Junior and at that point we’ll start the Savoie game countdown, fine by me but still in the bad since it’s clear he needs to get stronger

Ugly
Makar fall looked bad, glad he came back
Sammy taking a puck off the dome
When Mackinnons wires cross he turns into a complete psychopath and earned his 10 minute penalty

He had a couple impressive plays and a stupid penalty against late in the game.

Overall he looks like he belongs even if he is unspectacular.

Agree with all of this, but the Jost goal was tipped by an Avalanche player, nothing the goalie could do.

And the thing is, we don't need Joker to be anything more than what he's playing at this year. Just be solid and reliable. We don't need offense, or flashy plays...that's what Dahlin and Power are for. Just eat minutes, don't hurt the team, make smart decisions. If he can do that, it is such a huge boost for our team, especially if Power can ditch the sophomore slump and get back to what we expect from him.

Funny thing is, just a couple years ago the hope was Bryson could become that kind of guy too. It's hard not to write him off now...but if he could reach that level...

The problem is there is no way he holds up physically thru a NHL schedule yet. He is there mentally, but not even close physically. Need to throw him back and let him grow a bit.
