Exactly. Therrien and Julien responsible for that. So glad to see him defeated tonight.

I think it has more to do with the eras the games were played. Hockey before the lockout is boring compared to post lockout when you take the emotion out of it.

The 2008 playoffs was for me an awakening return to hockey. I lived in Montreal for 8 months only and had forgotten all about hockey since the Jets left in 1996. I was a University student at Concordia and was exiting the building after completing an exam when I heard a loud excited crowd in the university bar, I went in discovering a hockey game, second of the2008 series projected on a large screen . I got caught up in the excitement and became a Habs fan before the end of the night and followed the series to it's desired conclusion.

The 2002 and 2004 game 7's were boring as $)$%

There was no game 7 in 2002.

There was too much on the line, and too much suspense in the 2004 game 7 for it to be boring. The game was tied until very late. It felt like OT started early.

If anything, it was the 08 game 7 that lost all suspense in the 3rd period, as the final score was something like 5-1.
