No.

Bryan Smolinski? Always 0.5ppg for a long career. Average skater. Average shot. A bit above average playmaking. Sounds like Tierney.
Tierney won't crack 20 goals a season in his career let alone 650points.
Smolinksi was a good complementary player, didn't really do anything greatm but better than average and much better than Tierney.
I would take a 2nd a run if that was on the table.
We love average and spare parts here on LI.
Your "garth snow Stockholm Syndrome" hasn't worn off yet. I heard it can take years.
Tierney is a fine player, but with expansion looming I suspect a 2nd and a decent prospect would get it done. 2nd + Bellows + Wotherspoon/Vande Sompel would be a very nice return.
JGP would be a very nice fit for the NYI ,that team defense style would fit him like a glove...Wouldnt be surprised at all if NY takes a run at getting himTierney is definitely not the *best* fit for NYI, but paying a pick for him is probably better than what the cost on JGP seems will be.

Maybe as a FA???But that team is almost as perfect a fit for him as there is out thereFor sure they will. But it looks like the price might be prohibitive. NYI don't have enough organizational depth to trade a first round pick PLUS something else significant.

It depends how you define significant. I do not think Pageau will return anything more than a project (Duclair style) or an ok prospect on top of a 1st.
