Wasn't this Dono's role? Is Donovan about to get the Asst GM job?

At some point it would be nice if we hired someone externally who has worked in the role they are being hired for before.

No problem with this, Kelly as a player knows what it takes to work on and develop what it takes to become an NHL player.
One of the smartest players that we likely ever produced...Because we all know he would never have played in the NHL for so long because of his actual skill..

Cant see Dono even wanting that job TBH,he strikes me as a guy that wants to be on the ice still with the kids

A good hire. Knows what it takes to win. A real pro with experience from the Boston system he can also draw from.

Stone hands Kelly here to show da kids how to be an everyday NHLer and miss those empty nets.

But for real though, nice hire.

Lol ....Yep ,cant see him offering up too much advice on how to become a more effective shooter...But play away from the puck and good positional play is something he can teach

Someone with recent NHL experience to help the kids learn all other aspects of the profession to be successful, if not how to score on open nets. No complaints about CK22.

That's generally the sort of skills you are teaching at the pro level, anyways.

If you are trying to teach a 19 year old how to snipe, you are doing it wrong. Those are the skills you draft. Those are the skills you need 10+ years of youth hockey to develop. Once you are at the pro level, it's all systems and defence and positioning and strength & conditioning.
