They are at the point now where they are in the pre-rebuild state. If they want they can try and stay competitive for a few more seasons but they have to many holes to really do too much without more godly luck. Either way they should really avoid moving high end picks with were they are at as it will greatly slow down the eventual rebuild for little gain. That pick could really pad their org depth and shorten the difficult years.
This isn’t really true. They don’t need good luck to be successful, they need to not have bad luck like they did this year. All their core players had ridiculously bad years compared to their past performances, even a guy like Saad who’s still relatively young. They’ve got a really strong forward core, especially with the young guns in Schmaltz, Debrincat, and Sikura. If Crow is healthy (which the organization expects him to be) they’ve got an elite starter, maybe they want to upgrade their backup. The only major issue is D, where they could use a top 4 guy or two. Hopefully one of the young guys steps up and Bowman adds somebody in the off-season, but they really just need to keep relatively healthy and not historically underperform again.
