We gave up a 3rd for Dermott last year, so I can live with the cost of acquisition for Stillman, considering we halved Dickinson's cap hit.

A shutdown D is fine, even if he's bottom pairing (at best with our LHD depth), but I'd rather have just had the cap savings.

VAN gets out of a bad contract for a guy who never fit there and adds a serviceable young stay-at-home D. They save 1.3 M of cap room.

Chicago will try to resurrect Dickinson and gets a 2nd which could be in the 40's in 2024.

Yeah it never worked out here for Jason Dickinson, he was supposed to be a bottom six anchor guy but he it didn’t click for him. Also, he was another prized Jim Benning guy…who was shown the door.

I remember thinking the Canucks got a steal in the deal but I had gotten confused with Jason Robertson and Jason Dickenson. Dickenson struggled in his season with the Canucks.

I don't like parting with a 2nd round pick but clearing cap and getting a serviceable defenseman is a decent compromise.

I think this was mostly a cap dump by the Canucks but Stillman isn't a terrible piece to get.

That's steep to save 1.3m for 2 years.

Should be using 1sts and 2nds to try and select high end core pieces not give them away for fodder every year

They should have signed Dronov. He's better than Stillman.
