I've always wondered why he's not more active.Where is Ding Liren?
The Grand Chess Tour will hold its last two tournaments in Saint Louis in mid/late November, a Rapid & Blitz event and the Sinquefield Cup. Ding Liren was supposed to take part in both tournaments, but the tour has recently announced his withdrawal. The world champion has been completely out of...en.chessbase.com
He's been ill but is coming back for the Super GM Tata Steel chess tourney. If anyone is unfamiliar with it, I'll try to post some of the Super GMs from the last one.

Fischer lost interest, too. There's a picture after he lost - looking beyond depressed.I don't blame Carlsen for losing interest. He didn't have a rival like Karpov (Caruana is not strong in the Candidates) and the competition was very strong in the nineties. If any 21st Century non-WC was born 20 years earlier, would they have been as strong as Shirov at his peak? I don't think so.
I’m at the level where people don’t really play openings, everyone brings their Queen out early, they push flank pawns, and trade pieces just for the sake of trading. A bit over three years into his chess career, Faustino Oro, aged 10, continues to set record after record in Argentina. The “golden boy” (‘oro’ means gold in Spanish) became the youngest player to achieve an IM norm in history, as he broke the record previously set by Uzbek star Javokhir...en.chessbase.com
I like Oro as the next one. @ORRFForever
