Right now headed towards a Clowney type career, unless he can show that he can put it all together. Going to just get 1-2 year deals. Have to remain healthy to get paid, plus play well enough to justify another contract.

Is Young, after 4 years, (though with injury), not a Vested Veteran where his contract would have become fully guaranteed within 24 hours of their first game if he's on the 53 man roster?

I believe by definition Young is a vested veteran, so his base salary is guaranteed once he's on the 53 man roster come 24 hours before kickoff of the Saints 1st game. So, he's going to be guaranteed $5 mil or some come game 1. The rest of the $8 mill will be getting into games.

So his injury might have explained partially his soft play. It's still up to him to develop beyond a no-move pony, which he did not do in Washington.
