He's clearly not in full confidence, his mistake against Monaco and bad game with Brazil probably has put a lot of doubt in him.
Still he created a penalty, obtained a yellow and made a few very convincing defensive interventions.
I really only blame him for his yellow. Lack of focus after 15 seconds is still inexcusable.

He played it like he should have. Indeed, he hesitated to stick out the leg to prevent the pass, but that didn't put him out of position, KDB had a free pass to shoot no matter what.

If he turns towards the man instead of trying that weird play with his heel he at least closes De Bruyne down and forces him to stay a tiny bit outside instead of having an entire clear lane. May not have prevented the goal, but would have given a lot less of the net to shoot at.
