Scheifele and wheeler arguably the 2 best players in the poll
You shouldn't have an issue with accepting that just because the flames are hot right now

Last year's results should still be a reference

Scheifele
Wheeler
Johnny g

yes, arguably...and it's not last year anymore. Scheifele I can understand....Wheeler no

Flames but it's basically a coin flip. Tkachuk is the real difference to me.

Alot also depends on how one feels about Laine and he has his issues right now.

"Its not last year" last year speaks volumes tho. Yeah the flames are hot, it the jets are still counting their success arent they. And they're still not even their final form.

The ages here are important. If you notice Tkachuk is only 21 and can still get better!?
But then Laine is only 20. Connor and Ehlers are only 22.
All of them have a lot of room to grow as NHLer's and will.
Therefore, Jets have the best group going "forward".

But then Wheeler, their top producer is 32 whereas the Flames top producer is only 25 and the Flames top player is significantly better than the Jets top player.

Hyperbole
Johnny g is not sigifnciantly better than scheifele or wheeler

Scheifele plays center. Wheeler plays a bigger body game

Schiefele and Wheeler are better than any player on Calgary
Ya... Gaudreau is only 10 points up on Wheeler and 12 on Schiefele who is tied with Monahan.

After that, Tkachuk is far better than Laine at hockey. Im sure Laine cab floss better though.

Lindholm way better than Ehlers as well.

This is how I see it.

Scheifele > Monahan (Mony has really closed the gap)
Gaudreau > Ehlers
Tkachuk = Laine
Lindholm > Connor

Flames by a hair. Can’t blame anyone for picking either.

Hyperbole? I don't think you know the definition of the word.
By the end of the season Gaudreau will have scored 20 pts more than Wheeler and Scheifele. I'll take those 20 pts any day. And then you have Money who a clutch goal scorer that's deadly from the slot. Now we compare Tkachuk and Lindholm to Laine and Ehlers or Laine and Connor or Ehlers and Connor... Well there s no comparison. The Flames are clearly superior. The pts prove it. Your say so doesn't change the facts.

Lol at anyone pretending Gaudreau, Scheifele, or Wheeler are significantly better then any of each other. They’re all great players, any difference is minimal, no matter who you put first amongst them.

Laine is clearly the issue here, if he’s a consistent league leading goal scorer I would take the Jets core moving forward, since he’s not yet and is struggling to do much while not scoring, I picked the group that is scoring more points overall and helping their team lead the conference in points.

I dont think you know what the word means

Scheifele has proven himself over the past 3 seasons to be the better player
Just because the flames are hot right now dont change what those 2 players have been doing the past 3 seasons

Make your silly arguments comparing player to player
Winnipeg has been inconsistent and hasn't looked as good as last year and yet they're still head to head with flames enough have things going right then atm

Sound like leafs fan right now just because the flames are finally doing well

This will probably be the best half season in all of those Flames players' careers except for Backlund and Hanifin

Ah... if only life in the past changed how you do in the present.. It doesn't work like that. Scoring 100 pts last year doesn't have a hill of beans to do with scoring this year. Ask James Neal.
The past is just memories.. The present is what counts now. Ask Oiler fans.

As to the Jets being equal with Flames this year, am I missing something? Did the Flames not beat the Jets 6-3 in one game and 4-1 in the other in the two meetings this year? Doesn't sound equal to me.

out of the 2 teams Johnny g is the best player and Scheif/Wheeler are 2 and 3 in my opinion. Btw good poll op very close. I think Tkachuk tips it in the Flames favor.

I'd give the edge to the Flames. Their guys have just a bit more well rounded games so far though they are mostly older and more physically developed. Jets could catch up in time.
