so SJ fired him and the next day, AEK Athens is on the verge of signing him. Good coach just went to the wrong MLS team

Revs making moves as usual

I have seen reports of Shaq Moore coming to MLS and I know MTL have his rights. He looks like a top speedy RB/RWB. AJ is pretty average offensively and ZBGs progression has stalled for more than a year. Also Shaq is in the US NT picture so if he gets selected for the WC, his value can drastically improve. ZBG can also get selected so it should bring competiton

I am all for seeing Shaq Moore to Montreal.

EDIT .

He played USAs last 2 WC qualifying games vs Costa Rica + Panama and he got his start with the U17 squad under Wilmer Cabrera. Thats maybe how we got his rights and know about him.

Pantemis had pretty bad numbers last season as well if I remember correctly

I'm still fine with him when he's at his best , but sadly this has been a very bad start to his season. We're kinda stuck with him now though, I don't see what else we could try . I guess we just have to hope he'll get out of his current funk .

Breza is not good enough. He's not bad enough either to straight up cost us games (yet), but he never really makes a difference. Pantemis, on the other hand, had great games and terrible ones. He won us some games and lost us some. Not sure which keeper gives us more points at the end of the season tbh.

We've been too used to mediocrity in goal to understand the difference they can make.

Bush showed us little bits when he had to be clutch. The guy was elite in tournaments and in last stretch playoff races... but was so meh when nothing was on the line. It's not wrong of us to expect a keeper like clutch Bush. We're just so not used to it that we think it's rare.

FWIW, at the MLS level I don't see the keeper position as a major game changer . You at least want a league average GK obviously ( which Breza hasn't been in 2022) but it's not a position where I would necessarily look to spend a lot of money/ressources on.

I think we're fine with Pantemis and Breza. But it's a bad start from the big lad. Sirois could potentially be the solution next year, he's doing great in CPL, so did Pantemis though.

...

On a totally different subject, I was browsing the MLS website yesterday and saw that Koné is somehow an international player for IMFC? I'm confused... Maybe because he's not cap tied with Canada yet?

He is cap tied, played two games for Canada.

That's not what he meant. He's listed as an International player as far as roster slots are registered, like Thorkelsson, Wanyama, Ibrahim, Torres, etc... and that's kinda weird. I'm as confused as he is now. But googling a bit further, I noticed that he had to wait so sign his contract because of "technical mls rules"

I'll try poking around, I'm not sure who's going to answer faster if I ask on Twitter (my account as like 5 posts in 10 years lul)

Numbers don't lie, Gabriel Slonina is probably the best GK under 20 in the world right now, to the point Poland is trying to cap tie him and Gallese is the starting GK for a very good South American WC team

As for Breza, I don't understand why he is so rated, Pantemis carried the U23 NT squad. I checked on transfermarket and he only allowed at least 3 goals once in 2021. Breza, so far in 2022, allowed at least 3 goals in 3 games already. So yeah I don't understand. I think if Breza didn't come from Bologna people wouldn't be so biased.

Here's a player who should run to MLS this summer...

Another coach fired today

Weird because in the CANMNT games they were saying Kone had to play three games with the national team because while he is currently cap tied with Canada, he can still make the swith to Ivory Coast due to his young age... At least that's what I undetstood

That's what I understood also. Three games.

For players 20 or younger:
  • 1 competitive match + 4 matches overall = Permanent Cap Tie
  • 3 or less matches = Can Switch after 2 years of not playing
  • Only Friendlies = Can switch anytime
  • One Time Switch = If you had to make a one time switch, I think it is still permanent

Examples:
4 friendlies - not cap tied
3 world cup qualifiers - not cap tied
2 friendlies and 1 WCQ - not cap tied
3 friendlies and 1 WCQ - cap tied
1 Gold Cup or World Cup - cap tied
