has nothing to do with it....if you had been following, Oz.... apparently you know nothing about the Celtics.....

Ainge also played Baseball at one point, and Williams has tendonitis:rolleyes:
Red bought out his contract with the Blue Jays after the Jays sued for breach of contract.

This and the Brian Shaw case are standard case studies for those studying sports law.

I also think he's forcing himself to play lefty only, just thought it was funny to watch. He still shoots better than Fultz!
No doubt he was just being funny.

He shoots better than a number of current players.

I think Chief would be proud of his form on that hook shot

Marcus Smart clearly doesn't get his own value. Maybe this forthcoming "offer" from the Kings will help him realize what he's actually worth.

NBA free agency rumors: Kings preparing offer sheet for Marcus Smart

And that's IF it's even real as opposed to posturing for a better deal from the Celts. If the Kings did offer this guy anything over $10 per, I'd let him walk. He's simply not worth what he wants and expects.

I get contracts are different in the NBA now compared to 5-10 years ago...but I wouldn't pay Smart any more than Tony Allen.

Allen was a much better shooter (49% fg to 36% fg), and a better defender (6x All Defensive).

What happens if the Celtics let him walk? Do they get compensation like in the NHL?

Also, I love this line:

Smart said in late May he thought his next contract should pay him $12 million to $14 million per season.
"Just for the things I do on the court that don't show up on the stat sheet,” Smart said to ESPN at the time. "You don't find guys like that. I always leave everything on the court, every game. Tell me how many other players can say that."

Does that mean he gives $4-6m back for all the bonehead stuff he does off the court?

I don't even understand why the Kings would want him to begin with.

He's not a player you build around on a bad team. He's a perfect 6-8 option off of the bench for defense, who can start when needed, and hopefully hit some shots on a contender.

Very weird situation.

If I had to guess, there are a couple of options. First is that they looked bad with the Zach LaVine miss. So they'd go after Marcus just to say they didn't come up empty handed. Or, the rumors are nothing more than that, and the agent is trying to drive up the price with Boston. Anything other than that doesn't make any sense. He's a marginal player offensively, and doesn't make that King team suck any less. Signing him to a long term big dollar deal would be foolhardy for them. He's a defensive specialist with a penchant for throwing up bricks every chance he gets. He makes sense on a good team with a roster of better offensive players, but on a bad team it's dumb to have a guy like this.

His track record with rumors has been pretty shotty

I think you mean either “shoddy” or “spotty”?

Also, answering my own question from earlier, there is no compensation for the Celtics should Smart sign an offer sheet with a team and they refuse to match. Not a big fan of this, but then again I’m not a big NBA fan anyway. One more thing to add to the list.

lets get this back on track. Some college tidbits on Hass

had blocks per game of 2.5, 3.1, 2.5, 2.4
2x A10 DPOY, and arguably should've been 3x
as a sophomore led the nation in defensive rating and 4th nationally in blocks
1300 pts, 786 reb, 320 blk
