So is it just about effort and consistency? He does have the skills and has shown that he can be very effective at times.

I don't know what it is honestly. I don't watch him except for when he plays Detroit, and he is a mixed bag. Sometimes you really notice him and other times you don't even remember he was in the game.

Seems like someone should have offered something for him, but you never know. Injury issues, declining production, attitude issues, takes bad penalties, contract isn't a bargain, etc...

CBJ has two respected GMs, they can make mistakes like anyone else (look at last expansion), but I'm sure they did their due diligence.

So? He's still young, worth the gamble for Seattle that he might put it all together when he comes back. If not, they can flip him at the deadline for something.
Because teams would be lining up to acquire a player going to his his 5th team in 3 years at a $5M cap hit and is a UFA next year with recent major shoulder surgery. There’s a reason he’s being exposed and it’s not just because “the CBJ and Jarmo are idiots”

The problem with Domi is that he's not good enough to win with as a #1 or #2 and too poor defensively to be a #3.

At the trade deadline teams must certainly will be willing to take a gamble on him. Book it.

Why wouldn't a team like Nashville, who has only two forwards worth protecting in the expansion draft not try to make a deal here?

Or Buffalo for that matter.

Buffalo has seven forwards it wants more based on contracts. Personally, I’d throw a 4th at Columbus and expose Bjork

Weird fall from grace for Domi. Never was a fan of him cause of his suckerpunching habits, but he looked like a really solid player in mtl

Another option for Seattle. Injury is not a problem. Seattle will have access to a player's medical card. LTIR will allow you to maneuver with the payroll. Trading a healthy player in the deadline (@ret 50%) = 1st +. Seattle should consider the candidacy of a hockey player. Although there is a risk.

Jenner and Stenlund have shown an ability to play center. Couple others like Foudy or MacInnis could plug in temporarily. It isn’t great, but it isn’t as dire as only having those two you listed as centers. Surely we acquire someone else in a trade or free agency as well. 24m in cap space as it stands.

Didn’t Jarmo give Vegas a 1st and a 2nd so that they would choose Karlson who ended up scoring 40 that year? The guy has no clue how to manage expension drafts

Wouldn’t CBJ want Seattle to take Domi to clear his cap? UFA at the end of next season too, no?

The injury thing makes alot more sense. Everyone is gambling on his health. A shoulder injury for a smaller physical player is a big deal. There's a decent chance they sneak him through.

If you think John Tortorella is the best coach for your team, you are the worst GM in the league.

Torts is a classic Ponzi, his way on the ice is just not effective and the players can see that clearly.
