That would be nice if it does help the situation in Springfield, but when there are actually big crowds at AHL games it's a bunch of families. They don't let kids on the casino floors.

What the Ducks pulled on Ken Young and Norfolk was a classic case of extortion. The Ducks could have moved on, but they didn't need to take our franchise with them by extortionate means.

True and if the AHL tries it with some of the more ornery owners they will get sued. I am still betting that Ken Young received a suitcase full of cash to sell....

Yeah, I wonder if it's all quite as coerced as we've been led to believe. I think one way or the other, he didn't want to be the bad guy. Anaheim's making a good boogeyman. Not sure if they really are or not. One thing is for sure though, in the AHL, what the NHL wants the NHL gets.

Everybody talks about "extortion." Does anybody know the purchase price? I am sure the owner likely a significant premium over market to sell and part of the "spin" to his local fanbase is the no other options card. If it was a deal that one side couldn't accept, there likely would not have been a 30 to zero vote on the sale from the BOG.

Yeah, how often do you see an owner sell and say "I thought the offer was good money, so I took it and ran.". Instead, it's always a "sad day". They want the best spin possible on these things and Young still owns assets in the market, no?
