Minn is please to add Vince Dunn to our roster because we have a need for younger defencemen although we have to give up a 2nd to do so.

Great job Carl182 running your first mock! :thumbu:

Me as MTL's GM : What the hell, I offered him more money!
Me as Thompson's Agent : This phone number doesn't accept calls from your area...biip.

Yes, after a real tough year for Tage on several fronts, both the Thompson family and the Islanders felt this would be the best place for him to get his blooming career back on track.

There'll be extra motivation for him to work on a few key aspects in unison with his father in Bridgeport, before hopefully being a long-term answer on the right side for the Islanders in the future.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

2020 picks:
2 - #52) Martin Chromiak, right wing for the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL)
2 - #59) Vasily Ponomarev, center for the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL)
3 - #71) Anton Johannesson, defenseman for HV71 U20 (Superelit)
3 - #88) Pavel Novak, right wing for the Kelowna Rockets (WHL)
3 - #90) Evan Vierling, center for the Barrie Colts (OHL)
4 - #109) Adam Wilsby, defenseman for Södertälje AK (Allsvenskan)
4 - #121) Yevgeni Okstenyuk, left/right wing for the Flint Firebirds (OHL)
5 - #136) Rory Kerins, center for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL)
6 - #157) Simon Kubicek, defenseman for the Portland Winterhawks (WHL)
6 - #183) Yaroslav Likhachev, winger for the Blainville-Broisbriand Armada (QMJHL)
7 - #214) Albert Lyckasen, defenseman for HC Vita Hästen (Allsvenskan)

2021 NHL Draft picks:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 7th (NAS), 7th (NJD)

Martin Chromiak: "The guy has been talked about in Slovakia for years and is a first round talent. You don't just come over to North America mid-season and immediately put up over a point-per-game in a league like the OHL without having some offensive abilities. We think the sky is the limit and he'll eventually fit in wonderfully with our skill players."

Vasily Ponomarev: "This player has strong two-way ability and decent size to boot. He's responsible and we think he's eventually a middle six center who'll fit in wonderfully with our plan of regularly incorporating skill players who can play across all three zones. In our book, one of the top 40 players available in this draft."

Anton Johannesson: "A kid who has a ways to go, but is an incredible skater and an incredible producer of offense off the rush. We feel that injuries kept him out of the viewing field enough that if he had been healthy this past season, he too would be seen as a possible first rounder. There's uncanny hockey sense here."

Pavel Novak: "The kid is a wild card. He has his detractors and there are plenty out there who say he doesn't have the skating or wherewithall to impact play at the next level. We just see a righty shot version of Ondrej Palat. We wanted to go with that."

Evan Vierling: "One of the top-producing OHLers after arriving in Barrie. Can't wait to see what he does over a full season. His young career is back on track and this boy has a lot of tools to work with."

Adam Wilsby: "This dynamic offensive defenseman took a huge step this season and is already playing in the SHL as we speak. We feel this kid can ultimately do everything Sebastian Aho has done, but is a better skater. We also see him meshing well with what we continue to build here in Tampa."

Yevgeni Oksentyuk: "This kid just is an overager, but had a very late birthday in his draft year. He just played his first season in North America and killed it. He's a fireball of offensive flair and he simply knows how to produce offense. Our organization is very used to incorporating impact players who may have been overlooked by other franchises due their size. We feel this kid may be a top offensive producer one day."

Rory Kerins: "We've got guys like Cirelli, Stephens, Verhaeghe, and Katchouk in the organization. Kerins is definitely along these lines and that means that he too will be an NHL option one day. To what degree is a question he'll have to answer. We're expecting him to force our hand at some point."

Simon Kubicek: "This is a project and we like the size and shot as well as his place in the Czech national program. We're going to have to work hard on his skating and we'll be having him watch a lot of tape on how Cernak has developed, as this is the player he should be looking to emulate."

Yaroslav Likhachev: "The offensive capabilities are undoubted. In fact, he can be so good at creating offensive situations that he almost looks bored at times with the lack of difficulty. He needs to improve in so many aspects of his game, but he possesses the kind of offensive flair that basically can't be taught. The rest we'll teach him. Having 11 picks allows you to take a shot on a kid with this skill set."

Albert Lyckasen: "A righty shot defenseman with tons of mobility and offensive adeptness against players under 20 to date. He'll be in the Allsvenskan this year and it's time to get a feel for what he'll bring to the table against men. We liked him last summer and think this is as good a pick as you can make in the 7th round."

TRADE SYNOPSIS

DRAFT WEEK(END) TRADES:
- TBL sends D Ryan McDonagh and LW Alex Killorn to the New Jersey Devils for D PK Subban, C Patrick Moynihan, and D Yegor Zaitsev.
- TBL sends RW Tyler Johnson and D Brayden Coburn to the Pittsburgh Penguins for D Jack Johnson, LW Jared McCann, and LW/RW Kasper Bjorkqvist.
- TBL sends D Mikhail Sergachev and LW Ondrej Palat to the Ottawa Senators for F Connor Brown, D Erik Brannstrom, D Christian Jaros, F Jonathan Gruden, and 2020 picks 52 & 71.
- TBL sends 4th round pick (#94) to the Montreal Canadiens for a 4th round pick (#109) and a 5th round pick (#136)
- TBL sends G Curtis McElhinney to the Vancouver Canucks for D Toni Utunen.
- TBL sends LW/C Yanni Gourde and LW/RW Mathieu Joseph to the Vancouver Canucks for LW Antoine Roussel and RW Jake Virtanen

Tampa Bay, Florida-

"Hardly a team in the league was able to contend for the Cup as we did and then get to keep its line-up together. That's the new cap reality. In fact, no-one was hit harder and we've known that some dismantling would have to take place. Fortunately, we've been able to continue building on assets from within and got within the new cap reality while giving ourselves the option to continue to be a contender.

Unfortunately, this came at the cost of almost completing re-establishing our blueline. As usual, we've got some veterans who really need to bounce back and feel that both PK Subban and Jack Johnson have the ability to do just that. We're also excited about the new aspects Subban will add on the ice to our PP as well as off the ice to our community. In addition, cap realities made us move Sergachev - one of the finest young Dmen in the league - but also pick up Erik Brannstrom, who we believe can assume just the role Sergachev had in our line-up, even if some growing pains will be involved. In addition, we added a righty shot and some toughness in Christian Jaros, who Erik Cernak knows very well. This is a player who, like others we've had in recent years, will have a new lease on life playing with the style we implement.

Up front, we were able to add a very complimentary piece in Connor Brown, who should fit in like a glove here, bringing a righty shot to the top six. We also believe youngsters Jared McCann and Jake Virtanen haven't yet reached their peaks and will be able to take the next step here. We are gambling particularly hard on Virtanen, seeing as how he cost us a pretty penny. Antoine Roussel gives us some of that bite we've lost with personnel like Alex Killorn now playing for a new employer.

Fortunately, when you have the kind of quality players we had, some of the return is in the form of solid prospects. We have thoroughly scouted and believe strongly in the possibilities of each of Kasper Bjorkqvist, Jon Gruden, Toni Utunen, Patrick Moynihan, and especially Yegor Zaitsev. Throw in our already solid prospect bin and the huge draft we just enjoyed, and we think we're set to be contending for a great many years to come."
