I think he needs be partner that is a more proficient puck mover. Our mid-pair could be a puck moving type like Chicago's shut down pair. Gunnarsson would probably look really great with Granberg who is a more defensive/ physical version of him.

I agree, get him away from the defensive abyss of playing with Phaneuf, also I highly agree with the poster who mentioned that Ranger is underpaid, once Carlyle is gone and Ranger is properly used, he'll be one of the Leafs better stay at home defensemen IMO.
