He was OK on the Leafs, definitely a cut above Aube-Kubel who had an identical role with the squad. Doesn't really move the needle much for a contending team though

ZAR is a competent 13th forward. He doesn't score much and is vaguely ok defensively. That is about all I can say about him. I would be surprised if he sticks around with the Canes but I guess it's possible.

He was pretty decent for the Leafs last year in a 4th line role. 10 goals - right around what I had hoped for out of him.

The thing with him that was underwhelming after watching him play was the hitting. He has pretty high hits numbers but then when you watch him play, the hits are for the most part very soft and not really effective.

Good 4th liner. Wish he had a bit more edge. Would make him quite effective.

I think the league is more talented than HF wants to admit. I was just reading an expansion thread.

Saw him in Pittsburgh for years. He's a 4th liner, extremely vanilla playing style, low event type of player. He won't be a difference maker but won't hurt you out there either.

Hits kills penalties defensively responsible scored 10 goals. Not bad for a 12th/13th forward.
